I’ve always wanted a red car, but I never bought one. Imagine the smile on my face when my friends at DriveShop let me cruise in this infrared 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 for a week. Finally, I get to whip that red car around.
Of course, my two little ones had to chime in about the color and the look of the car. Their first reaction? “Ooooh, mommy! It’s pretty.” Their second reaction? “Mommy, this car isn’t big enough for us.” An understandable assessment. They are accustomed to cars that are a little larger. But once we all got inside to check it out, my son actually said, “this has more room than I thought.” Not a bad observation for a 6-year-old.
And I agree with him. Although this vehicle may not be the first car on the list for a family with children, it surprised me in a number of ways and I actually think a family of four would be pretty happy with this car; especially if that family is budget-conscious.
Not only was I impressed with the interior space, but I felt like the trunk was pretty roomy, too. It definitely provided enough space for groceries and all the random extras that end up in the car when you have kids (think soccer balls and folding chairs).
So what were my absolute favorites features (aside from the color, that is)? I have to say that although I don’t blog much about being frugal, I am all about saving a pretty penny. With that in mind, nothing beats a car that is as fuel efficient as the Mitsubishi Mirage G4. I think it would almost be impossible for you to find a non-hybrid vehicle with mileage this good.
You probably want actual numbers, right? No worries, I’ve got you covered. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 gives you an MPG of 37 city/43 highway/39 combined. I am so serious! Isn’t that crazy? I know the big car craze can get a hold of all of us, but wouldn’t it be nice to get that kind of mileage and save a ton on gas every year? And imagine getting this without spending a ton on a hybrid vehicle.
I also loved the technology. I’ll admit that I am a pretty simple girl when it comes to my technology needs. I don’t need anything too high tech, but I do need to listen to my tunes with ease. The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 let me do just that. With just a few simple clicks, I was listening to the playlist on my iPhone and enjoying every minute of it. I think providing Apple CarPLay support is definitely a highlight for lots of people. The car also offers Android Auto support for all the Android lovers out there.
Overall, I think the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 offers style, convenience, safety, and comfort at a price point that works for most people. I will admit that I thought the car was a little loud at first, but with a pretty good sound system, that was an issue that didn’t bug me for long.
Available in three trims, the Mirage starts at $12,995. You really can’t beat that. So whether you are starting a family and you want a car that’s safe and stylish, or you are planning to buy a car for a high school graduate who has made you proud, the Mitsubishi Mirage is definitely worth looking at. Give it a test drive and think it will surprise you, too.
Have you ever driven a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage? Based on this review are you willing to take one for a test drive? You definitely should!
