I don’t write about hair products often, but when I come across something I find intriguing, I just have to share.
The amazing folks at ORS (formerly Organic Root Stimulator) recently sent me an adorable package in the mail and the contents definitely caught my attention. (They caught my 2-year-old’s attention too because she barely let me dig into the box until she was all done.)
Now, you know I always keep it real with all of you so I have to admit that I haven’t used the ORS Shealicious products. It’s not because I didn’t want to, because I was really ready to dig in and mix things up. It’s because my dermatologist recently diagnosed me with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia. Honestly, I will spare you all the details, but I am using two different medications right now on my scalp and using a new hair product line isn’t the best idea. My doctor recommended waiting for my scalp to heal. I agree with the guy.
Anyway, I shared the cleansing balm and moisture mist with my mom. She has short natural hair and likes to keep thing super simple when it comes to managing her hair. She loves the smell of the products and also loves the way they make her hair feel. My mom doesn’t love much when it comes to products, so that’s saying a lot.
What I am fascinated about the most, though, is their Hair Conditioning Cocktails. The yogurt-like packaging is definitely innovative and fun. It also offers a simple way to make you feel like you have a role in creating some sort of special cocktail just for your hair. By mixing natural oils with a shea butter conditioner, these cocktails promise to give your hair some much-needed love.
The Hair Conditioning Cocktails are currently offered in:
Shealicious Moisture Lock (tamanu and black currant oils)
Shealicious Scalp Relief (avocado and rosemary oils)
Each cocktail comes with the aforementioned oils on one side and the shea butter conditioner on the other. Your job is to simply mix and give your hair some love. #PourItMixItFixIt
