To Philly With Love

On a recent trip to Philadelphia, our editor saw a side of Philly that she has never seen before. Filled with opportunities and attractions that will leave children and adults wanting more, we think Philly is now on our list of favorite cities. Most known for its cheesesteaks, the Liberty Bell and the Rocky stairs, you’ll be surprised when you realize how much more Philly has to offer. Do you have young children? Then you must check out the Please Touch Museum. It’s an amazing experience for adults and children, alike. Looking for a cool opportunity for older kids? There are...

Keeping the Promise

You don’t need to have children to feel passionate about the type of education our kids receive. With issues of race, gender and socioeconomic status to grapple with, navigating the educational system is no easy feat for middle-class African American families. 11 Reasons Why We Can’t Wait for This Summer

This was such a beautiful weekend. I don’t know where you are, but in Maryland the weather is just gorgeous.  It’s been sunny since Friday, and it’s been gradually getting warmer.  Today promises to be sunny and over 70 degrees.  I love it (and so do the kids).  We went to a gorgeous neighborhood park yesterday with a 300 acre lake as it’s center.  Simply beautiful! As the weather warms up, we are getting ready for what I know will be an awesome summer.  My son is 3, my daughter will probably start crawling during the warmer months, and we can’t wait...
