My friends at Boiron provided the products I review in this post and the giveaway products. All opinions shared are my own.

I think everyone has a preferred season for working out. Don’t get me wrong, working out should happen year-round, but if the weather affects how you feel, or you enjoy outdoor activities, you probably have a season that just makes you smile.

Mine is fall (and it’s not just because I was born in October). During the fall months, conditions always feel just right for a run, walk, or even a hike. The temperatures are comfortable, humidity is low, and I don’t have to worry too much about the rain ruining my flow.

Not into working out? That’s okay. I know how it goes. You are busy. You are exhausted. The to-do list won’t end. And when you are raising kids, you just can’t seem to find the time. It’s hard to find a fitness routine that works for your schedule and your lifestyle. I totally get it.

But if it’s been on your mind, I think you found this post because it’s time for you to do something. Read on to learn 5 reasons why fall is a great time to start a new fitness routine, and enter my Boiron giveaway so you can get two products that will really offer you the support you need once you get moving.

It’s great for your mood.

As much as I love fall, I don’t love what the change in weather and lack of sunlight does to my mood. The great thing about working out is that the endorphins released help you stay in a better mood when you feel like curling up under your blanket and sleeping in all day. So instead of waiting for winter to show up and leave you in a funk, start working out this fall so you are ready to fight back and stay positive all winter long.

The weather is great.

A sure way to give up on a workout routine is to start it when it’s either freezing outside or when it’s hot and humid. Not only is the weather great in the fall but it’s also beautiful outside, allowing you an opportunity to become one with nature (or just chill and watch the leaves fall).

Those holiday pounds are waiting for you.

I try not to obsess over the scale because I think fitness and happiness extend far beyond some number on the scale, but I also know that gaining weight around the holidays is a real concern for most women (myself included). But if you start a workout routine in the fall, you will be able to indulge a little bit more during the holiday season without the guilt.

You are ahead of the game when it comes to the start of the new year

I have a love/hate relationship with the New Year. I love how everyone wants to set new goals and hit the ground running, but the pressure that comes with unrealistic resolutions just annoys me. If you start working out this fall, you will be well into a nice routine when the New Year starts, and that will be one less thing you’ll need to add to your list of goals.

It’s a great time to do a race

Okay, before you start going off about how you don’t plan on running unless it’s for your life, hear me out. I am not thin (at least not by any standards in this country), but I am fit. I have completed a marathon, a half-marathon, and a number of 5ks. It’s always been a fun experience. Grab a group of girlfriends, find a race of interest (a race that raises money for a cause that matters to you is a great idea), and have fun. And remember that you can walk a 5k, 10k or even a marathon. No one says you have to run it. It’s too late to safely train to run a marathon this fall, but you have plenty of time to train for a 5k before fall is over. Give it a try.

Now that I’ve motivated you to throw your kicks on and get moving, what should you do next?

Enter the awesome giveaway I have that’s being hosted by my friends at Boiron of course!

Here’s what you can win…

Calendula Cream

Calendula Cream is a great product designed to help promote the healing of minor burns, sunburn, chafing, scrapes, and cuts. If you think an outdoor run, walk, or hike is in your future, this is a great product to have. Minor discomforts are usually enough to make some people give up on their fitness routine. Calendula cream helps you address a number of minor issues so you can stay comfortable and active. I’ve used Calendula cream on myself, as well as my kids, and I’ve been very happy with the effectiveness and quality of the cream. Watch the video below to learn more.

Arnicare Gel

I workout pretty often, so sore muscles and minor injuries are pretty common. When you engage in any fitness routine, soreness, muscle pain, and stiffness are inevitable. When these things occur, you just need to be prepared. Last year I started using Arnicare Gel to help when I experienced muscle pain and stiffness and it works. I am a huge fan. It provides pain relief without leaving an icky feeling on a skin or a funky smell that lingers. I recommend it to people all the time, and I think everyone who works out needs to keep some at home and in their gym bag. Watch the video below to get more scoop on Arnicare Gel.

Now it’s time to get your own Arnicare Gel and Calendula Cream!
